5 Straight Wins for Fire
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Cleveland Fire and the Long Island Ducks, Keith McMillian, the 19th overall pick in the 2045 draft, was the difference-maker. The Cleveland right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. The save went to Joe Fahey, his 8th this season. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for the Fire.
Peter Nelson had a big 2-run home run for the Fire in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Júlio Dávila and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Fire on top, 3-0.
"Keith has got a slow heartbeat," said Cleveland manager Fred Moulds. "He doesn't panic or anything."
