The Minnesota North Stars got a strong performance from pitcher Cipriano Borges, who stymied the Cozumel offense en route to a win, 8-2, at The Island Ballpark. Borges, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 4 walks. The North Stars improve their record to 24-12 with the win over Cozumel.

Minnesota used a well-timed hit by Allan Chaumont to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the North Stars ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Chaumont told the Minnesota Daily.
