8-5 Loss to Admirals Extends Boston Losing Streak
The Seattle Admirals racked up a win at The Ship Yard, bumping off the Boston Rebels, 8-5. Vic Niekro, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. Noberto Barba closed the door for Seattle, picking up his 3rd save of the year. The Rebels, now 15-22, have lost 7 in a row.

In the top of the ninth, Ed Nipper stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Rebels were trailing 8-5, but had the bases loaded. That's when Noberto Barba made a terrific pitch and Nipper lined out. Gone was the dream of a Boston comeback.
