Greenville Dismisses Minnesota, 7-4
|
The Greenville 84's locked up a win at The Kallipolis, knocking off the Minnesota North Stars, 7-4. On the mound for Greenville was right-hander Raúl Bojórquez. He played a major role in the triumph. Bojórquez got the win, improving to 5-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Herman Banks finished the game for Greenville and earned his 11th save.
Greenville used a clutch at-bat from Héctor Accuro to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the 84's ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Raúl gave us everything he had," said Greenville manager Dale Downs.
The win for the 84's lifted their record to 21-15.
