Thom Long never let the Seals get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Kings to a win, 3-1. Long, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Gregory McClellan closed out the game, earning his 10th save.
Roy Mason, the 2nd overall pick in the 2052 draft, chipped in a 2-run home run for Kansas City in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
