RubberDucks Win, 5-4, at Vista
|
No one was more impactful than Don Gillian in the 5-4 Charleston win over Vista. Gillian, who is tied for 9th in the BSA in home runs with 13, was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Charleston reliever Robert Davis was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Brandon Griffin. With the win, Charleston pushed its record to 23-17.
Charleston relied on the hitting of Tony Rangel to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the RubberDucks on top, 5-2. For the game, Rangel had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We found a way to get it done," Gillian said.
