|
The Chicago Machine defeated the St. Louis Browns, 7-6, at Gateway Stadium today. Leading the charge for Chicago was designated hitter Arnold Walker. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The Machine improve their record to 19-27 with the win over St. Louis.
Ryan Holden hit a 2-run triple off Pat Daniel in the top of the first, which put the Machine in front, 2-0. Holden had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 4.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Walker, "but we got it done."
