The St. Louis Browns beat the London Rippers, 2-1, at Gateway Stadium. Starting pitcher Ramón Longoria was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The win puts St. Louis at 36-11 this season.

The decisive blow was delivered by Claude Rowland in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off former first round draft pick Ernest Adams to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Rowland said after the game.
