Machine Trip Green Sox, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Chicago Machine and Lubbock Green Sox played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Starting pitcher Juan Peña was a major factor in the 3-2 Chicago Machine triumph over the Lubbock Green Sox. Chicago reliever Justin Hubbard picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. José Lara was tagged with the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With Chicago trailing 2-1, Ryan Holden hit a changeup from José Lara to center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Machine had a walk-off win.
After the game, Chicago manager Pat Miller applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Green Sox, now 18-30, have lost 4 in a row.
