Maui Wins, Tsui slugs 2 home runs
|
A 3-RBI performance from Yifu Tsui, who is tied for 3rd in the BSA with a 1.156 OPS, helped the Maui Wave beat the Houston Eagles, 9-4. Maui reliever Darren Peck was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Way-ming Ec. The Eagles, now 22-26, have lost 7 straight.
Maui used a well-timed hit by Nick Nelson to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Wave ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Tsui.
