Hunt Stars for Gang Green in 5-2 Win
|
The Irvine Gang Green used the hitting of catcher Gordon Hunt to subdue the Mexico City Luchadores, 5-2. For the game, Hunt went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The win went to Nick Hunt in relief, making him now 4-0. Juan Gonzáles took the loss for Mexico City. The Gang Green have now reeled off 13 straight wins.
Hunt had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Juan Gonzáles, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Gang Green a 5-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Hunt.
"This team is hotter than heck," said Irvine manager David Adams.
