G-Strings Top Columbus, 4-3
|
The Nashville G-Strings wiggled past the Columbus Coalition, 4-3, at Agent 47 Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Nashville pitcher Félix Hernández. Ernest Williams, now 4-4, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The win makes Nashville 23-28.
Nashville used the timely hitting of Fernando Herrera to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the G-Strings on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Herrera.
