North Stars Upend Knights, 6-3
|
The Minnesota North Stars bested the New York Knights, 6-3, at Bronx Municipal Park. Victor Johnson was one of the standouts. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Minnesota, at 34-19, is 3½ games up in the Water Division.
Minnesota relied on the bat of Allan Chaumont to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the North Stars ahead, 2-0. For the game, Chaumont had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Chaumont said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
