Yonkers took on Dallas in front of a lively crowd.
Yonkers turned a good effort from starter Dan Olson into a win over the Dallas Steers at Seabreeze Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Olson got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. Olson allowed 1 run. Getting the save was Luis Álvarez, his 10th.
The Yetis got a lift from third baseman Iván Guzmán, who in the top of the first hit a 2-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Yetis on top, 3-0.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Olson. "I just want to win ballgames."
Today's win puts Yonkers at 27-29, while Dallas falls to 34-23.
