RubberDucks Sink Knights, 9-6
|
Ángel Santos did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the New York Knights from losing, 9-6, to the Charleston RubberDucks at Charleston Ballpark. Santos was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Charleston, at 32-25, holds down second place in the Heart Division.
In the bottom of the fifth, Charleston left fielder Jon Benjamin had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Benjamin stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 3-0, Charleston. For the game, he went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
"We got the victory," said Benjamin. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
