The Maui Wave beat the Dallas Steers, 7-2, at Rainbow Stadium. John Hopper, who leads the BSA in triples with 5, starred for Maui. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. James Horton earned the save, his 15th. With the win, Maui raised its record to 35-23.

León Corona had a big run-scoring double for the Wave in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Maui leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Dan Perkins and swatted a double to left. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wave ahead, 4-2.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Corona.
