Sheens Lose at Home, 7-4
|
The Jersey Shore D-Bags defeated the St. Charles Sheens, 7-4, at Crown Royal Stadium. Bob Faucher, who is a two-time All-Star, was a standout performer for Jersey Shore. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Tim Lee earned save number 9 this season. The last-place Sheens now sit at 24-35.
With Jersey Shore leading 5-4 in the top of the ninth, Faucher hit a 2-run single off St. Charles hurler Joaquín Camacho. It was the 48th hit of the season for Faucher and put his team ahead, 7-4.
"Bob leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Jersey Shore manager Tim Fulgham.
