Orlando Topples St. Louis, 4-3
|
The Orlando Calrissian picked up a win at Mel Fields, knocking off the St. Louis Browns, 4-3. Starting pitcher George MacFadden was a big reason why. Orlando is now 18-42. St. Louis is 27-33.
An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Calrissian catcher Vincente Torres hit a slider from Pat Lockyer for a 2-run single. Just like that, Orlando was up, 2-1.
Torres attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
