Seals Continue Skid, Thanks to Villa, Coalition
|
The Columbus Coalition topped the San Francisco Seals, 8-4, with youngster Jesús Villa playing a key role. Villa went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Coalition in the win. The losing streak for San Francisco has now reached 5 games.
Bud Alarcon had a big 2-run home run for the Coalition in the bottom of the third inning. With Columbus leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Trent Richardson and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Coalition on top, 3-0.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said San Francisco manager Pedro Rodríguez.
