Rebels Need Extra Frames to Get Past Firebirds
|
The timely hitting of Cy Barnard helped the Boston Rebels down the Phoenix Firebirds, 7-3. Barnard was 3 for 7 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Rebels. The Rebels now own a record of 28-33.
Boston took a 4-3 lead on Felipe Cruz's 17th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Cruz hit in the top of the 13th, left Phoenix pitcher José Martínez visibly frustrated.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Barnard said.
