Seals Drop Cougars, 12-10
|
Fort Worth got a terrific game from shortstop Jack Tannehill. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Francisco, 12-10. Tannehill was 1 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. San Francisco reliever Tom England got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Mike Crawford was tagged with the loss. San Francisco, at 25-38, holds down 4th place in the Earth Division.
San Francisco got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Jai Schenkel. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 14th inning to put the Seals ahead, 12-10. Though it was his only hit in 6 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Francisco skipper Kenny Stevens.
