Steers Squelch Rebels Offense in Shutout Win
The Dallas Steers got a strong performance from pitcher Dan Valéncia, who stymied the Boston offense en route to a win, 4-0, at Seabreeze Stadium. Valéncia, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The 6th-place Steers go to 27-36.

Roberto Guzmán hit a run-scoring double off José Marte in the bottom of the second, which put the Steers in front, 1-0. In addition to the double, Guzmán had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"Dan made some big pitches when he needed to," said Steers manager Mike Moore.
