G-Strings Need Extra Frames to Get Past Admirals
|
The Nashville G-Strings got a stellar performance from pitcher Adam McPherson, who handcuffed the Seattle offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Gibson Guitar Park. Jesús Flores snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 3-3 on the season. The G-Strings saw their win-loss record go to 32-35. At the same time, the Admirals fell to 47-19.
Nashville won the game in the bottom of the 14th inning. With no outs and Ramón López on the mound for Seattle, left fielder Steve Wright hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing G-Strings fans to their feet.
"I thought we played a nice game," Wright told the Nashville Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
