|
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Jack Knoppert, the Lubbock Green Sox defeated the Chicago Machine, 6-4. Knoppert went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Green Sox. Albert Soto picked up the win, lifting his record to 7-6 on the season. He struck out 8 and walked 2 in 5 innings, while yielding 4 runs. With the win over Chicago, the Green Sox improved to 32-35.
The Green Sox got a big at-bat from second baseman Nate O'Neal. For the game, O'Neal went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Lubbock a 5-3 lead.
