Martínez Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Raúl Martínez did a number on the Rainiers in the 12-5 Del Mar victory -- and the number was 5. The Racers first baseman banged out 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Sick's Stadium to lead his club past the Seattle Rainiers.

"I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."

Raúl Martínez singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eric Williams in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Zambrano in the 6th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

Hitting .261 to date, Martínez has 17 home runs and 57 RBIs. He has played in 110 games.
