Carver goes 3-for-5 to Light G-Strings Fuse
|
A 5-RBI performance from left fielder Mike Carver led the Nashville G-Strings to a win over the Dallas Steers, 11-4. Erwin Mills picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-3. Gabriel Garza, who finished 2nd in the BSA in saves with 33 in 2044, was tagged with the loss. The Fire Division-leading G-Strings are 49-22.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Steve Wright came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Gabriel Garza, he hit a 1-0 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Nashville on top, 5-4.
"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Carver told the Nashville Times.
