Royales Pitching Ravaged by Poole
Friday, April 23rd , 2055
The Mexico City Luchadores stopped the Montreal Royales by a score of 15-5 at Eagles Park, with the lion's share of the credit going to shortstop Ambrose Poole. The 32-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Poole said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Poole did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Royales.
"Not much that I can say," offered Montreal manager Timothy Widholm. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Ambrose Poole singled in the 1st, singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Cedric Patterson in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
So far this season, Poole has hit .265 with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 12 times.
