Diablos End Short's Streak Saturday, May 28th, 2039 The San Jose Hawks lost to the Mexico City Diablos 3-1 today at Pikes' Point Stadium, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Ben Short's 23-game hitting streak. The second baseman went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Short, we would win the game," Diablos manager Uryaghel Belghazi explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." To date this year Short is batting .350 with 4 home runs. |
