Veteran Waters Hits Three Dingers Sunday, August 15th, 2038 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the Denver Doobies today. Maui right fielder Barrett Waters tripled up on the home runs to propel the Wave to the 8-1 win at Cronos Coliseum. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," Denver manager David Lister said. "Waters hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Waters collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Barrett Waters walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jeffrey King in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jeffrey King in the 5th, hit a sac fly in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Steve Thompson in the 9th. Thus far this season Waters has hit .345 with 38 home runs, 116 RBIs and scored 99 times. |
