Garza Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games Saturday, August 13th , 2044 The San Jose Athletics fell to the Boston Rebels in Edmund Fitzgerald Field today, even as 35-year-old second baseman Pablo Garza upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Garza finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Athletics from dropping the 6-1 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Garza. Pablo Garza singled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Garza currently has a .297 batting average with 115 hits, 8 homers, 40 RBIs, 39 runs scored and a .342 OBP. |
