Lubbock's O'Neal Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
Sunday, August 27th , 2051
Lubbock left fielder Nate O'Neal could do no wrong in today's 7-3 win over the Foxes as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Foxes skipper Carlos González said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
O'Neal agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Nate O'Neal hit a solo-shot off Russ Roy in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
In 2051 O'Neal has hit at a .292 clip with 141 hits, 16 home runs, 72 RBIs and has scored 65 times.
