Thrice Is Nice: Griffin Unloads 3 Homers

Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's North Stars-G-Strings game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Minnesota first baseman Willie Griffin thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Minnesota to a 6-5 win over Nashville.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Griffin said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Griffin was 3-for-4 on the day with 3 runs batted in.
Willie Griffin hit a solo-shot off Matt Mathieu in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Matt Mathieu in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Matt Mathieu in the 6th and struck out in the 7th.
This season Griffin has hit at a .249 clip and produced 105 runs batted in, 48 home runs and 85 runs.
