Kansas City Loses Ball for Year
Friday, September 1st , 2051
The doctors have spoken and Cliff Ball of the Kansas City Kings didn't like what he heard. The 24-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Ball sustained his season-ending injury during the Cozumel Reef Divers game yesterday at Kings Ball Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Kansas City medical staff reported Ball had radial nerve compression and would be absent from the lineup for at least 4 months.

This season Ball is 1-and-0 with 2 saves and a 4.23 ERA. He has given up 24 hits in 27.2 innings with 32 strikeouts.
