Hitting Streak Still Alive for Cook Tuesday, August 4th , 2054 Eugene Cook's bat has been smoking lately, and it continued today as he went 1-for-4 in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Cozumel Reef Divers at Seabreeze Stadium. The 23-year-old shortstop has now hit safely in 25 consecutive games for the Steers. Eugene Cook struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. For the season, Cook is currently batting .309 with 17 home runs and 61 RBIs. In 87 games he has reached base at a .328 rate and scored 50 runs to date. |
