Recovery Slow for Seals Fabián Martínez Sunday, September 3rd , 2051 "It's worse than we thought." That was the news from the Seals clubhouse today as it was learned that center fielder Fabián Martínez will be out for an added one week as a result of a recent injury. His treatment for a knee contusion will have to be extended. Initially it didn't seem the injury was a major concern, but the San Francisco center fielder told team trainers of some discomfort yesterday morning, and upon examination it was determined to be a more serious injury. "We'd rather take this thing slowly and make sure Fabián gets back onto the field healthy," said the team's head trainer. Martínez is presently batting .216 with 5 home runs, 14 runs scored and 16 RBIs. His OBP is .295. |
