Carver Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times Friday, September 29th , 2051 Fans are still buzzing after St. Charles whipped the Dallas Steers by the score of 7-5 today at Seabreeze Stadium. Mike Carver smashed three home runs in the contest, a feat that would be a career highlight for most players and few fans ever see. In a tremendous performance, the left fielder bashed out 3 hits in 5 at-bats, had 6 RBIs and scored 3 times. At the postgame press conference, Carver said it was an "unbelievable" feeling to hit three home runs in a game. "Getting one homer is special, and two is great," Carver said. "Three is just... wow." Mike Carver hit a three-run home run off Jorge Marino in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jorge Marino in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Don Tanner in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. This year Carver has batted at a .269 pace with 143 hits, 38 home runs, 101 RBIs and scored 79 times. |
