Big Day with Bat: Morse 5-for-5 Wednesday, October 4th , 2051 A jubilant Thatcher Morse joined the postgame press conference at Crown Royal Stadium today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Greenville 84's pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the St. Charles Sheens first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Sheens to a 9-4 win. "He made it look easy," said Jim Dunbar, manager of the 84's. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Thatcher Morse hit a solo-shot off Lorenzo Cuevas in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
