Nick Place, the Lubbock Green Sox 25-year-old first baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for Baseball Stars Association Player of the Week honors. He ripped 12 hits in 21 at-bats, compiling a .571 average with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. On the year, Place has hit .271 with 39 home runs, 96 RBIs and scored 78 runs. |
