Broncos End Roberts Streak Wednesday, April 28th , 2055 It was a doubly miserable day for Martin Roberts of the Mexico City Cerveceros, as he saw his 23-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 14-4, to the Mile High Broncos at The Star Zone. The 23-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Broncos. "Anyone on a 23-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Mile High manager Rob Lucas said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." So far this year, Roberts is hitting .360 with 9 home runs. |
