Ortíz Wins ITL Player of the Week Trophy Monday, June 24th , 2047 Tomás Ortíz demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the International League Player of the Week Award. The Allentown right fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .483 average (14-for-29) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. This season Ortíz is swinging the bat at a .299 rate with 81 hits in 271 at-bats. To date he has hit 22 home runs, scored 52 runs and driven in 54. |
