The Olympia third baseman made Memphis defenders earn their pay, lashing Memphis pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it." "Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Pérez said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch." Santiago Pérez doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Ray Evans in the 9th.
