Trenton Punchless in 12-0 Loss to Black Cats Saturday, July 1st , 2051 The Trenton Stars were almost helpless today in their 12-0 loss to the Sunderland Black Cats and hurler George O'Neil. O'Neil kept the Stars confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to O'Neil," Trenton manager Doug Willard said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 24-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," O'Neil said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." O'Neil has posted a 4-7 record for the year with a 4.83 ERA.
