20 Games in a Row for Cortés Monday, August 15th , 2044 Win or lose, Miguel Cortés just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 2 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Portland Privateers left fielder went 2-for-4 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 8-7 by the Redwood City Redwoods at Redwood Park. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Miguel Cortés walked in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and walked in the 11th. Cortés currently has a .363 batting average with 110 hits, 12 homers, 69 RBIs, 59 runs scored and a .475 OBP. |
