Knoxville Loses Johnson for Year Monday, July 24th , 2051 The season is finished for Mike Johnson of the Knoxville Johnnys. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Johnnys reliever suffered a torn labrum while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Albuquerque Isotopes. Team doctors said it would take at least 6 months to heal. This season Johnson has chalked up no saves, notched a 1-5 record with a 6.79 ERA, allowed 56 hits in his 54.1 innings of work, struck out 66 and walked 43. Opponents are hitting .264 against the Knoxville hurler. |
