Friday, July 28th , 2051
Carlos Martínez went yard three times in a Indiana Hounds victory over the Wolfeboro Wolves at County Stadium today.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Indiana center fielder went 3-for-5 against Wolfeboro with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Hounds to the 13-0 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Carlos Martínez hit a solo-shot off Phil Pearson in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Kyle Lewis in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Alberto Martínez in the 7th and struck out in the 7th.
This season Martínez has hit at a .269 clip with 74 RBIs, 35 home runs and 59 runs scored.
