Big Day for Díaz: Swats 5 Hits
Sunday, August 20th , 2051
The Minneapolis Millers stopped the Spokane Trappers by a score of 9-2 at Bill Robinson Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Carlos Díaz. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Díaz said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Díaz did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Trappers.

"Not much that I can say," offered Spokane manager Yasuhiko Onodera. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Carlos Díaz hit a solo-shot off Trent Richardson in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Díaz has a .340 average and a .417 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 160 hits, 40 home runs and driven in 101 runs.
