Alarcon Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games
Thursday, August 24th , 2051
The Knoxville Johnnys may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 8-6 to the Minneapolis Millers, but Bud Alarcon continued to hit like a god.

The second baseman collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.

"Alarcon is playing great and is on fire right now," Johnnys manager Richard McClellan said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."

Alarcon was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss."
Bud Alarcon singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Kelly Williams in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Kelly Williams in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

This year Alarcon has hit at a .344 pace and produced 27 RBIs, 12 home runs and scored 36 runs.
