Cerveceros Chill Alarcon's Hot Streak
Friday, August 25th , 2051
It was the best of both worlds for the Mexico City Cerveceros today at The Quarantine, as they defeated the Knoxville Johnnys 8-5 and also snapped Bud Alarcon's 20-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Knoxville second baseman failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Alarcon, we just wanted to win the game," said Cerveceros skipper Floyd Walton. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Alarcon frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Alarcon is batting .335 this season in 47 games with 12 home runs, 27 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 64 hits in 191 at-bats.
