Rangel Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak
Sunday, August 27th , 2051
Win or lose, Tony Rangel just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games.
The Chapel Hill Sharks first baseman went 1-for-2 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 8-7 by the Tuscaloosa Trout Slayers at Tuscaloosa Municipal Stadium.
"It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Tony Rangel walked in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Harvey in the 6th and hit a sac fly in the 8th.
Thus far in 2051 Rangel is hitting .359 with 19 home runs, 39 RBIs, 40 runs scored and has compiled a .432 OBP.
