Torrid August Gets Piñeiro PCL #1 Batter Trophy Friday, September 1st , 2051 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 25 Alberto Piñeiro has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Vancouver Vipers star can enjoy the numbers he put up in August, which have garnered him the nod as the Pacific Coast League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .323 average with 11 home runs, 28 RBIs and 26 runs scored. So far this season Piñeiro has 32 home runs and a .255 batting average. |
